Gypsy Arts Festival South East

Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th September 2008

Once an annual pilgrimage for thousands of Gypsies over the years for the hop picking season, The Hop Farm is the ideal place to host Kent’s very first Gypsy Arts Festival. And what better time to celebrate than at the end of the Farm’s Hop Festival!

Gypsy Arts Festival South East promises a feast of Gypsy stories; a large collection of Edwardian and Victorian Gypsy Wagons; film screenings; live music, including the likes of Sarah The Singing Gypsy, Hungarian Roma band Parno Graszt and Romanian/UK Gypsy band Hai La Drum (to name but a few); traditional and contemporary photographic exhibitions; art, dance and music workshops (bring your instruments); traditional craft demonstrations, i.e. peg making, basket weaving, lace work and paper flowers. Plus open fire cooking: anyone for rabbit stew?

Make sure you get this in your diary. This has all the ingredients for the perfect day out for everyone.

Open daily 10am-5pm.
